Story: Yobany is a first-generation student whose parents immigrated from Mexico and El Salvador. Both of his parents work as chefs in the Bay Area, inspiring Yobany to cook meals at home and pursue a culinary career. At Yobany’s alternative charter school, Life Learning Academy, Yobany enrolled in cooking classes where his teacher recognized his talent and encouraged him to apply to Sprouts’ Chef-in-Training Program. He is thrilled to train under the will be mentorship of Chef Perez at the iconic Slanted Door so that he can one day become a chef like his parents. We’re rooting for you, Yobany!
