Christian Grindrod grew up in the suburbs of Louisville, KY. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. He joined Michelin Star Betony upon completion of his culinary degree and was part of the opening team at Villanelle, taking over head chef duties in November, 2017. He and his Betony-trained team of chefs are turning out memorably delicious, market-driven, New American fare for dinner, weekday lunch and Sunday brunch.
Villanelle is a passion project, 4 years in the making, of Greenwich Village resident and owner Catherine Manning. In an effort to support local businesses and farms, and the ethical food movement, she teamed up with a first rate staff trained at top NYC fine dining establishments, to serve some of the most delicious, well-sourced food, wine and cocktails available in New York City today.
