CHEF QUESTIONS & RESPONSES

What is your profession? What do you love most about your job?

I am a business attorney. If the law were a recipe, then my job is to help my clients understand the recipe, where they need to follow it exactly and where they are able to improvise.

Why are you interested in cooking/food/education?

I love to cook for, and share meals with, my family and friends. Cooking is a great family bonding activity. I love Sprouts and its mission to instill the same love of cooking in children.

What is the connection between the work you do professionally and the advising work you do for Sprouts?

I have had the pleasure of helping Sprouts with different legal needs throughout the years, including forming Sprouts as a non-profit organization and navigating other legal issues as it continues to grow.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned from working with Sprouts?

All of Sprouts programs are interesting and fun, but I am particularly impressed with the impact that the Chef-in-training program has on its apprentices.  I encourage everyone to get to know the  apprentices and learn how Sprouts has contributed – and in many cases – changed their lives.  To me, it underscores the importance of Sprout’s educational programs.
