Intern’s Story: Melanie certainly knows how to hold her head up high when things are tough! With her father absent from her life, her mother works hard during the day and at night to provide for Melanie and her siblings. The responsibility of cooking often landed on Melanie, an experience that inspired her to consider cooking as a career with Sprouts’ Chef-In-Training Program. She wanted a career where she could connect with her work on a deeper level, connect with people and involve her artist talents. An office job wasn’t her calling. After being placed at Nido and working incredibly hard, Melanie saw a huge increase in her cooking skills as well as her ability to communicate with confidence. We’re all rooting for her as she develops her culinary career path!
