CHEF QUESTIONS & RESPONSES

What is your profession? What do you love most about your job?

I’m an accountant, and I love the daily challenges that keep me both motivated and constantly learning.

Why are you interested in cooking and food education?

Somewhere down the road, people stopped cooking. I have the best memories from the times spent in the kitchen with family and friends. Sprouts is bringing back those good times.

What first made you interested in food?

Moving out of my home country where eating out was a once-a-year treat, I started to crave homemade food. When living with my family, I took all of that food for granted. Not until moving out and experiencing fast-food did I realize how much healthier and better tasting anything homemade is!

What is the connection between the work you do professionally and the advising work you do for Sprouts?

I’m like a bean counter– counting and food seem to go well together.

Why do you think the work that Sprouts is doing is important?

Healthy eating habits should start early in life.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned from working with Sprouts?

I’m totally new to working with Sprouts, so I’m looking forward to learn more. But so far, I’m impressed by the level of passion shared by both the Sprouts team, and the chefs with which Sprouts works.

Why is it important for kids to learn how to cook for themselves?

 Not only it is healthier but it is fun, creative, relaxing and it brings people together.

What was one of the most rewarding experiences you’ve had as a Sprouts fan?

It is the AHA! moment kids get and how excited they are to learn and experiment given the opportunity.
